Japan X Reader- Confession Rehearsal

        "K-kiku, I-i need to tell you something..." You whispered as you and your friend, Kiku, were heading out after school. Though you weren't much of a romantic, you couldn't help yourself from falling for your soft spoken, otaku friend. Sometimes you would do a few girly things, like thinking about a possible future with him. But you knew that the only way for any of that to even come true, was if you confessed to him.

   So here you were, standing a few feet from him waiting for him to turn around.  After a second or two, he turned his head towards you and asked.
"Hmm? Rhat is it (name)-chan?"  Your heart started to beat fast, but you knew you had to say it and you said to him,
"sorry, I know it's sudden a-and all... But I've liked you far too long to just stall! S-so what I'm trying to say is... i-is that I l-like you!" A blush was quickly spreading over your cheeks, Kiku was blushing a bit himself.
"N-nani?" he asked as he looked into your eyes, clearly embarrassed, and possibly trying to see if you were being serious.
"j-ju..." you began to stutter
"Ju?" he tilted his head in confusion.
"J-just kidding!" You shouted out as you put on a 'smile'. "H-ha! I got you good didn't I, K-kiku? You actually thought I was being fucking serious!" You started to laugh nervously, while Kiku mentally face-palmed.
"(name)-chan..." he said in a stern voice, "Rou know rhat it's not respectful to mess with someone's feelings..."
"Y-yeah, yeah, I know..." You mumbled as you went to follow your friend who was starting to walk away.

"Why did rou do rhat (name)-chan?" Kiku asked as you caught up to him. You looked towards the ground and mumbled,
"it's a confession rehearsal."
"A rehearsal?" Kiku repeated back, clearly confused. You were able to dodge that question and instead asked him,
"So~ Was I cute? Maybe made your heart skip a beat?" You looked over at Kiku, and he didn't exactly have a friendly expression, it worried you quite a bit. "H-hey, don't look at me like that. I-i said I was sorry."
It took a him a minute before he said, "So I see you're going to be getting serious." A blush spread over your cheeks once more and you stuttered, "E-e-e-eh??"
He then lightly hit you on the head, "that's a lie." Though your head hurt, you knew you deserved it but mumbled.
"Fine, but you owe me some ramen..."
"hai, hai." Kiku said with a light chuckle as the two of you went to get some ramen.
